Still looking for progress

March 19th, 2018 at 02:08 pm

As of this morning, after putting in $60 to my bank account, I still need $531. I did spend money on the pets this weekend, $58. But they were out of food and I had to buy some supplies for our other animals. So $20 of the $60 I am putting in is money I had set back, but obviously not enough to cover it. I am also still struggling to find this money for the ticket. If I get paid from my second job and I can float the $40 I will get on 03/23 then I will still need $140. I am listing some things on Letgo, hoping they will sell quickly. I am also going to try Decluttr. Has anyone tried that? I am also looking for somewhere to sell some books. I hate to get rid of them, but I may be able to make a few bucks on ones I'm not reading.

We were gifted pizza last night for dinner. So that was wonderful. And I was gifted gas last night so I should have enough to get me through the week. Very grateful for these gifts. Smile

Good luck! I hope you come up with the money in time. If not, a terrible option that would at least get you through these deadlines would be withdrawing money on a credit card. I haven't done that for years, I think it's expensive in terms of fees and interest rate, but it would keep you from going into default or incurring penalties. But hopefully you wouldn't need to resort to that!

I would try Facebook Marketplace groups in your area. If you can find a local buyer fast, that means cash fast. Do you have a used book store in your area? I have used 2nd & Charles and Half Price Book Store.

I would compare the fees of withdrawing money on a credit card to any penalty you would pay.

I'm sorry progress is much slower than you want...consider if you are really doing everything you can to turn this around. Go back and look at advice given since you started and see if any of those things you dismissed would have helped.

Along the same vein, you might offer stuff among your Facebook friends. Some of my friends do that before listing if it is something that they think their friends would be interested in. You price it ahead of time otherwise it could get uncomfortable.

Hope you can come up with the money, but like Ceejay and CCF, don't take money from your credit card. Those fees are exorbitant.
