Lyft?

May 16th, 2018 at 07:20 pm

Anyone have thoughts on driving for Lyft? They tell me that I could make $124 driving 6 hours a week. Is it worth the wear and tear on my vehicle? Is it safe? I tried Instacart a while back, but it was a flop. Total waste of time.

Just looking at ways to make extra money. I can't ask for a raise right now. Still trying to find things to sell on letgo. I have $30 in baked item sales this week. But with hundreds of dollars needed, I need to find another option.

I have two friends drive for Uber with mixed reviews. One, a male, is very successful at it but he concentrates his time and efforts around Thursday through early Sunday morning. He drives the weekend partiers around. He made over $700 one weekend during NCAA tournament time. The other, a woman, focused on day time rides (mostly to/from airport trips). She felt the wear and tear and increased gas and insurance costs took a big bite out of the return. She no longer drives for Uber.

So, in short, it's a mix bag, depending on what you are willing to commit to it.

MMM did a write up of his experience:

doesn't seem too positive, but he does give suggestions that might make it more profitable.

I just started driving for Lyft and I am enjoying it. If you live in or near a city you could easily make what you have projected. If you use a referral code when you sign up and follow a few criteria you could get a nice bonus. Mine is CREDITCARD39398 if you want to use it.

I also found reading this blog has been helpful https://therideshareguy.com/and Lyft has Hubs in many cities and training in the app that can help. I say go for it. Why not. You could always turn that income into passive income (which is my goal). Either way if you don't like it you can always try something else.
